The Van Eyck is a post-academic institute for artistic talent development with an international outlook, located in Maastricht. The core values that the Van Eyck aspires to are meeting, connection, cooperation, engagement and process. These core concepts intersect with and reinforce one another, and together form the Van Eyck's identity.

The Van Eyck has a multiform structure consisting, firstly, of
the Jan van Eyck Academie, the international post-academic institute for talent development and its Labs;

of the Hubert van Eyck Academie, which takes responsibility for educational and project-based collaboration;

of Van Eyck Mirror, the project agency which brings participants and cultural and social actors into mutual contact;

of Van Eyck Services, which manages the utilization of the building and the Labs by third parties;

the Van Eyck Café-restaurant, an open interface with the outside world.

These components interlock like gears in the mechanism of the Van Eyck; the outputs of this mechanism include the programme and the links between participants and external partners.

The Van Eyck offers its participants multiple surroundings that are challenging and stimulating. The participants make work of their own and contribute to projects of the Hubert van Eyck Academie, Van Eyck Mirror, of collaborating partners, of Lab workshops, of In-Labs. The multidisciplinary character of the Van Eyck appeals to their artistic and intellectual versatility and enables them to deepen and ramify their talents and skills in the short and long run. The work of the participants is the effect and the result of these various interlinked processes. It especially testifies to an art practice that is investigative and committed.
